Late Night Editing

An Experiment on a Bird in an Air Pump by Jose...

I love the peace of mind and comfort of working through the night.  It’s peaceful, everyone is a sleep, it’s my free space to let me mind wonder and be creative.  Though most people struggle through a long day of work at a 9-5 or so on, and to spend the night time editing is quite a bust for them, but I welcome the feeling.  It’s a delight to see my creative creations get fine tuned and come to life overnight and I can blossom with delight throughout the next day.  Now having gotten no sleep, yea we tend to get a bit cranky in the early morning but that’s a easy cure for a bagel in the morning with coffee or tea and hit the gym and boxing out all your aggravation on the boxing bag and be energized to head to work and try to be productive and pleasant to everyone.

For me my late night editing consist of writing blog posts, editing videos and organizing my data on my computer while backing them up.  Oh yea, you can throw a bit of photo editing in their too, sometimes I forget I am a photographer and should do that.

Shout out to all the photographers, writers, editors, video makers and bloggers who spend that extra time to work on their craft and try to produce the best works they can.

If you do late editing what do you use the time to edit?  What is the best and worse feeling about late night editing?

Sleeping On Your Phone

An Olivetti rotary dial telephone, c.1940s

It’s quite a frightening feeling when you are sleeping with your phone next to you and you just can’t enjoy sleeping the way you do in fear that you will crush your phone.  I know it may sound funny because some people don’t care about their phones or got busted ass phone (I am not hating), but some people like myself do care about their cell phones.  Especially when it’s say a touch screen phone or an iPod, for when you screen is jacked up, you know how pissed you will be in the morning.  All night last night I was sleeping on my phone, I had my elbow all in the screen squeeze down and I hear the noises like oh my it’s about to crack, but I refuse to get out of the bed, so of course like every normal person when something is all beside you, you twist and turn trying to keep the sleep momentum and avoid damages to the phone.  Luckily for me nothing was damaged during the unnecessary roughness of my sleep.  I woke up happy. 🙂

I have a blackberry bold, it’s can take some roughness, but hey, I aint trusting myself.  I love my blackberry dearly, it’s my baby.  It does so many functions that if I had to get a new one or a replacement, because of course I put insurance on my phone, I would be at a loss until the new phone arrives.  Hmmm I guess I am lucky.

Have you been up late night talking and fell asleep on the phone?  Have you woke  up with he frightening feeling like dang, my phone could be cracked or broken?

The Weekend Blues

I think I am coming down with the weekend blues. Its when the weekend is here and you got no plans on what to do. Surely no one really wants to have a boring weekend after having a long and hard week of work. Well hopefully I could find something to do. I might have a little amount of cash I can blow somewhere at something.

The ideas for this weekend to keep me from going crazy are:

1. Working out playing soccer and doing some yoga.

2. Going to the movies. (I want to see 30 minutes or less, even though I don’t like 1hr 23min movies, but maybe it will be a quick and good laugh at admission price$6)

3. Going to the city with my camera and exploring. (Manhattan is such a delight on weekends if you stay away from the 2 train and 5 train in the bronx. The South street Seaport is a nice place at the end of the summer especially with a drink from Pacific Grill.)

4. Watching some Netflix or Rent from the Redbox. (There are couple movies I missed I can catch up on.)

As for group ideas:

5. Going bowling. (I missed trying to throw 3 strikes in a lane, as people already knows I am a beast on Wii Bowling. Lol)

6. Going shopping. (Who can really turn down shopping if you have a little change to blow. Just getting an item is good enough if its something cool.)

Either way, as much as there are possibilities of things to do, after a long week of work, nothing beats sleeping the weekend and catching up on some reading. Yup a said it, being a lazy bum. Sometimes you just got to do it. You worked hard for it.

Have a happy weekend everyone.

What are your options or choices for fun on the weekends? Do you have the weekend blues too?
