Hello Friends and Fellow Creative Blog Community…welcome to a new series titled “Subscriber Interview“.

 my last interviewee: One Belle Of A Blog with (Kristina)

Subscriber Interview is a series on my blog where I, Richardo the writer/host of the blog talks and interviews his subscribers each week and find out a little more about them and what they do.  It’s designed to keep the blogging community alive and also show others who is out there in the blog universe. Without no further ado, here we go.

Today I get to interview the sexy and creative lady of art Alicia in which is one of my cool subscriber,  in which I love her work and would love to work with on a small project. She blogs about her abstract artwork and paintings and has a blog at http://myzuriart.wordpress.com “Zuri Art“.  She has a very great style for colors and blends and when I discovered her blog, I was very impressed.  I wished I could paint and do cool things too. 🙂 I hope you go and check her out. Well let’s find out a bit about Alicia shall we. Enjoy!

What is your name and what do you enjoy doing for fun?

Aye I’m Alicia and for fun I sing and listen to music while painting or editing photos, music helps it all flow. Other than that I’m a huge movie buff so my DVD player is always on and a spliff lit. I go out once in a while but I mainly chill.

Where are you from (city, state, country) and Nationality?

I was born in San Fernando Trinidad, of Trinidad and Tobago “Trini to de bone” I left when I was 3yrs old and I have lived in Philly most of my life but I’m still a Trini!

If a blogger and own a blog what is your blog about and what do you enjoy about blogging?

You can follow my blog at http://myzuriart.wordpress.com I am an artist who loves to share her talents so my blog is full of vivid and vibrant photos of my paintings or abstratography [it’s my of photos in abstract form] I am very new at “blogging” but I can say that I do enjoy seeing everything that everyone has to share and that’s just on wordpress, I haven’t even really gotten out there yet, lolz

What would someone enjoy about your blog or about you?

A sense of positivity, I can say that if you don’t feel the good vibrations then your just not in tune (lolz).  I am all about honesty and keepin it real. This world is not sweet and I am not one for sugar-coating anything. I take life for what it is and with my blog I am able to share my art and my point of view through my painting and photos.

What do you do mostly on the Internet?

Editing Photos, WordPress, Facebook, ArtBreak, Pandora is always open, Shopping when I don’t need to, and I’m always looking up info on becoming a better artist.

Why did you become a subscriber to Richardo’s blog?

I liked the whole feel of the site it was kool, has a great eye for photography and the articles where relevant.. I dug’em.

Is there a favorite post or something you enjoy the most about Richardo’s blog?

I can say that in Jan you did a photography spread that I enjoyed a lot.

Name one or a few of your Guilty Pleasures?

Sleeping in late more like a bad habit (lolz)
Candy even though I’ve been real good lately
Purple lolz I’m more likely to buy it just because it purple, now do I need it smh
MaryJane nuff said.

What were some of your favorite childhood activities?

Color by number call me crazy but I use to keep a folder of my best ones lolz
K’Nex I loved building things mostly for my Barbies lolz
My Imagination was real serious back then I really kept myself preoccupied with my own thoughts… and I still do

If you had $10 in your pocket, what would you spend it on?

If I’m hungry then, I’m getting something to eat; but other than that it depends on the situation.

If you could meet anyone in the world who would it be?

Bob Marley, I just want to sit and listen to him talk and play the guitar

What inspires you to write or read blogs?

The search for knowledge I love finding out things and I believe that blogging (even though very opinionated) still gives you a feel of what’s going on through the eyes of a regular person and not so much the “news”

What’s your favorite type of music or you listen to frequently?

Neo Soul R&B and Oldies Songs and music with a Positive message

What’s one of your favorite movies and why?

One of my newest fav’s are Ip Man 1&2 the whole philosophy of Win Chun and the martial arts is bananas just two great movies.

Any good tips or good advice for up-coming bloggers?

Be patient your following will come as long as you pursue what you luv and want to share your blog will be successful Faith Trust Believe

What is are a few things you are very passionate about?

My art painting taking photos and writing ( I am going to get back into writing a lot more)

Color even though I love wearing black,
Music listening to Neo Soul R&B and Oldies

What is a day in your life-like? (activities)

Well I’m getting used to living my life the way I want it now for once because before I always had a “job” but now I am pursuing my life as an artist:

Waking up to paint, photograph or edit photos
If I have to Host [b/c I am a Hostess at 2 great restaurant and bars in Philly The BoilerMaker & The Farmers Cabinet look’em up and check’em out]
When I get off I come home and blog n facebook, VistaPrint

And in some time in between that I have to live my life see my friends go grocery shopping and a bunch of odds and ends

What is a goal for you in life?

To have a well-known art gallery and studio of my own. For ZuriART to be a well-known name. I have goals to travel and spending months living on islands.

A favorite treat or food you love?

Chicken Roti ooohhh llluuuvvvvv!!!!!!!

Either Or Neither: Game – (just quick responses, you choose one or the other and a short reason why)

Coffee or tea? Caramel Latte Yum

Gym or Party? Chillin that’s what I prefer

Morning or Night? Night

Ice Cream or Cake? Both

At the park or At the Bookstore? The park with a camera, sketch pad, colors & headphones…

I guess I’m not too good at following the guidelines but I guess that’s why I am an abstract artist lolz

Today I have the pleasure to interview Kristina in one of my fun subscriber and also a blogger who blogs about beauty, fashion, celebrities and more and has a blog at http://bellemarie86.wordpress.com aka “It’s One Belle of a Blog“.  Go and check her out.  Enjoy!

What is your name and what do you enjoy doing for fun?

My name is Kristina, but most people call me Kris or Krissy. Kristina is so formal! For fun, I love to write, listen to music, hang out with my friends and family, watch movies, go shopping…yea, definitely go shopping!

Where are you from (city, state, country) and Nationality?

I’m a New Yorker, through and through! Born and raised and I’ll probably live here all my life! I’m African-American and half of my family on my Dad’s side is from Jamaica.

If a blogger and own a blog what is your blog about and what do you enjoy about blogging?

My blog is all about the things that I love which are fashion, movies, music, television, beauty and then it’s also just my random thoughts and what goes on in my life. The best part for me about blogging is just getting my opinions and my thoughts out there and working on my writing skills. Like I said, I absolutely love to write and hope to make it a career someday so blogging is a great way to get myself started.

What would someone enjoy about your blog or about you?

I think what people will enjoy most about my blog is my thoroughness. I don’t feel I’ve done a good enough job unless I pay attention to every detail down to grammar, pictures, links and anything else I feel is important to include. I think people will also enjoy my random bits of humor and sarcasm. Everybody loves that right?

What do you do mostly on the internet?

I usually get on the internet and do girly things like read gossip news, look at new clothes and accessories I might want and watch beauty tutorials on YouTube. But overall, I absorb a lot of information. I think people give the internet a hard time because it’s so informal but you can actually learn a lot from the web if you give it a chance.

Why did you become a subscriber to Richardo’s blog?

I became a subscriber of Richardo’s blog because I enjoy his sense of humor and honesty about his beliefs and attitudes.

Is there a favorite post or something you enjoy the most about Richardo’s blog?

I have a lot of favorites but the posts I like the most are his creative ones where he makes up a scenario or poem about something funny. Basically, I enjoy anything he does that makes me laugh!

Name one or a few of your Guilty Pleasures?

Probably one of my biggest guilty pleasures is Reality Television! The more drama, the more I LOVE IT!

What were some of your favorite childhood activities?

When I was a child, I loved to draw. I would make up characters and scenes; I had a character I drew a lot called “Tiger Woman” who was a super hero that was half tiger and half human!

If you had $10 in your pocket, what would you spend it on?

If I had $10 in my pocket I would probably spend it on notebooks, pens and pencils which I definitely don’t need anymore of but I love to buy them anyway!

If you could meet anyone in the world who would it be?

I would love to meet Brandy. I’ve loved her and her music since I was 8 years old. She’s such a beautiful person, an awesome singer, actress and performer and she inspires me! I would love to meet her though I’d probably faint and cry if I do…maybe not in that order!

What inspires you to write or read blogs?

I think what draws people to read or write blogs is just the natural urge we have to get inside people’s heads or have others get inside ours. Every blogger, I think has this tiny little narcissistic thing in them that makes them want everyone to listen to their ideas and opinions.

What’s your favorite type of music or you listen to frequently?

I can’t say I have a favorite type of music because I love all kinds, genres and types! If I hear something and it sounds good, no matter where it comes from or who sings it, it’s going on my iPod! My tastes range from something soulful like Anita Baker or Robin Thicke, to something a little edgier like My Chemical Romance or Fall Out Boy and everything in between!

What’s one or a few of your favorite movies and why?

Oh, the dreaded favorite movies question! I can never pick just one but I will say that I love romantic comedies and good horror movies which are hard to come by now-a-days. I’m not a big action fan but there are a few exceptions. And a good thriller is good too!

What is your name and what do you enjoy doing for fun?
My name is Stephen Quammie, my friends call me “Quammie” or “GQ”.
My idea of fun starts with writing, singing, dancing & ends off with reading, watching movies & making women laugh. I’m pretty easy-going & open.

Where are you from (city, state, country) and Nationality?
I’m from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Yes, I’m a Canadian born black guy. My mother is Jamaican & my old man is from St. Vincent & my grandparents live in the U.K.

If a blogger and own a blog what is your blog about and what do you enjoy about blogging?
My blog started out as a place for me to post my writing back in 2006. Over time my interests & skills broadened & so did my blog. The Wandering Mind is literally an extension of what is going through my mind; music, love, women, writing, art, funny random shit (can I say that?), and just about anything that influences my way of thinking.

Writing is my first love & reading is my second, so I really enjoy when a blogger lets me inside their world. I’ve spent many nights chatting with bloggers about the post I just read and then veering off into random hilarity. I like peeking behind the curtain and getting to know the person behind the words or images that I’ve connected to.

What would someone enjoy about your blog or about you?
Well I don’t have a “ghost writer” for one thing, my past provides me with plenty of ghosts & writing material, while my everyday life keeps things unexpected & interesting. I don’t claim to know everything, I can be deep & insightful or a witty smart-ass. I write the way I speak & I speak the way I feel.

My blog always leaves you with something: a quote, a poem & a little something for your troubles.

What do you do mostly on the internet?
Before my online A.D.D. kicks in, I’m researching products, psychology, artwork & anything that can better my life.

Why did you become a subscriber to Richardo’s blog?
Ricardo is a forward-thinking guy that’s always on the move, something about the energy & humor that his blog projects just kept reeling me back in, so I subscribed myself to his lifestyle of blogging creativity.

Is there a favorite post or something you enjoy the most about Richardo’s blog?
One of the first posts that caught my attention on Richardo’s blog was “She Knows She Is Sexy”. He described attraction in a way that not only made sense to me, but also made me think.

My favorite post would have to be “A Secret About Me: I Gave A Lap Dance”. I couldn’t stop laughing because I am guilty of doing the same thing and the fact that he gave a lap dance to “Touch” by Omarion (one of my favorite songs to dance to) made this post resonate with me even more.

Name one or a few of your Guilty Pleasures?
I am addicted to podcasts & music. I have to listen to a podcast or music each & every day! I love baking, my friends call me “Bradley Crocker” in the kitchen.

What were some of your favorite childhood activities?
I was this close to saying video games, but I was a pretty rambunctious kid, I was always doing cartwheels & flips. I was always trying to climb & jump over things so I could be like Spider-Man (can you say “parkour”?). I climbed my townhouse & each of my schools. I stopped that habit after High School; apparently security guards don’t like it when people climb property that is under their protection. When I wasn’t flipping like a Power Ranger or scaling walls like a webhead, I was swimming or drawing.

If you had $10 in your pocket, what would you spend it on?
I would either spend it on a movie (like I intend to do tonight) or a picture frame, so I could put a few photos or some of my own artwork up on my walls.

If you could meet anyone in the world who would it be?
Will Smith, yes the Fresh Prince himself. I know he’s not royalty or a “life changing” religious figure, but for most of my adolescent life I looked up to him. I read his biography, watched his films & played his music because he gave me something to aim for. He is positive, focused & funny and I needed that growing up.

What inspires you to write or read blogs?
Writing blogs stems from whatever catches my attention at the time. A thought, a glimpse, a word or a smell just triggers something in me. I usually sing or hum while I’m writing. I read blogs that educate me or fill me in on topics of interest. When I first set my eyes on someone’s blog, I read the “About” page, and if I feel like I would be interested in having an actual conversation with you, I read your blog. Once I find something to connect to, I’m yours.

What’s your favorite type of music or you listen to frequently?
My tastes in music has been described as being quite eclectic. I bounce between instrumental, dubstep, R&B, hip hop, rock & musicals. As long as it catches my attention, I’ll listen.

What’s one or a few of your favorite movies and why?
I know I’m gonna miss a few movies, but these are a few movies that I’ve watched countless times.

· The Maltese Falcon (Classic Humprey Bogart Film Noir)

· Grave of the Fireflies (A heartbreaking animated war movie about two orphaned kids, it made me cry)

· Face Off (John Woo, Nicolas Cage & John Travolta, nuff said)

· Cellular (A film about a regular guy caught up in a messed up situation. His only connection to the other characters starts off with a phone call)

· Robin Williams Live On Broadway (This performance still seems relevant & fresh no matter how many times I’ve watched it)

· The Nines (A well-acted film that asks the question, “What if God was one of us?”)

· Crazy Stupid Love (I enjoyed the way such life changing actions shaped each interaction by the end of the movie)
