A Room of One’s Own

A room of one's own

The real reward of independence and for self is when you can claim a room of one’s own.  We go through life, from infant to teen, then from young adults to being elder in the attempt to be on our own, in which is a symbol of growth.  What we acquire throughout our lives shows our self-worth, and one of the main things we try to aim for is a place to call our own.  We pick up many other things along the way such a convictions, religion, belief, money, love, pride, respect, and other material things, but when you are in charge and have the freedom to make decisions in any which case is a very powerful thing.

Many people go through this world, not being able to accomplish this one goal, because of the odd balls life may throw our way, but still we try to keeping pushing.  Some of us are not as strong will as others and may stumble a lot more than other, but if we can have it, we would all want A Room of One’s Own.

I myself is working on having a room of my own, a place of freedom to create and live a satisfying and fun life.  As much as achieving this may take a bit longer than I thought, I still strive for victory that one day after all my hard work I will be able to gain this proud and live changing achievement.

I came upon this title of this post based a book of the same title I had to read (was supposed to read) in my freshman year of college at Lehman College (Women In Literature Class) and I never once forgot the title because I knew of a great worth of knowledge and literature that would be within the walls of this book.  Now that I think about it, I still own the book after 7 years, and might be aiming to give it a thorough read very soon, and add that to my list of books I should I read long ago, but will read now.

Book: A Room Of One’s Own by: Virginia Woolf

Do you have A Room of One’s Own?  Is this one of your goals in life?

I was so excited when I went into the gym today (February 23, 2011) to see a brand new, well appear to be brand new Heavy Boxing Bag at Bally Total Fitness that I go to.  The boxing bag was a key part of my weight loss in 2008 and 2009, and its was missing in 2010 in which messed with my abilities to loss a good amount of weight and upgrade my fitness potentials.  Now that I see that the Boxing Bag is back, not sure for how long, I got to take advantage of it and “Bring The Pain” to my new workout routine which involves, a mixture of Mixed Martial ArtsCalisthenics, Yoga, and Pilates.  I also use couple other routines to mix up my workouts, such as active sports such as Basketball, Soccer, Tennis and exercise program as South Beach Diet Workouts and P90x.  It’s a very tough road I got to go for my fitness, but I am glad to add back boxing to my routine in 2011.  Let’s see what it does for me.

Just a little info…When usually hit the gym, I do 10 minute warm ups and stretches, then jump in on 20 mins on the Heavy Bag, then do Calisthenics and Shadow Boxing for 20 mins, then back to the Heavy Bag for 10 minutes, then hit the Cardio on the Manual Bike and Ellipticals then work on ABS and Core work, then into Stretching and Breathing (mixture of Yoga and Pilates) then back to Cardio, then into Mix Martial Arts & Calisthenics, then Weight Lifting or which ever Muscle group I am working on for that day…

I usually do this about 4-6 days a week.

If you want any beginner tips feel free to ask in the comments.

I can’t lie, half the time when I tell you I am plotting my movements to unleash within my city of New York, I feel like I am DIDDY.  I also feel like Jay-Z and 50 Cent too but, I be on my DIDDY swag.  I am just that natural business man who wants to bring entertain to New York City and promote the talents within.  Though the talents of New York comes from all over the world, at the end of the day where are they at? and where are trying to make it big? right here in New York.  I live a New York City Lifestyle, I live in the fast lane, I like my options, I love the mixture of culture, I love the grind.  Though the grind may be super hard, I am down for the cause.  I will never give up.  But enough of just me, I really just want to promote people in the right way and help bring opportunities their way in which DIDDY (Sean Combs), Jay-Z (Shawn Carter) and 50 Cent (Curtis Jackson) does for New York City.  Even though some of their dealing may bring some bad stigma with them, this world ain’t perfect.  And trust me when I tell you, New York ain’t perfect, but still get up everyday and work hard through the struggle.

So when you see me trying to put things together and make some moves in New York City, I am definitely getting my DIDDY on.  (You feel me, right?, Take That, Take That, Take That)

PS: Shout out to all my hard-working people in New York City, I got love for you too.  As a matter of fact, much love to my hard-working people EVERYWHERE who are trying to make things happen in the world.
