PSY – GANGNAM STYLE (강남스타일) M/V

Pop culture and trends are amazing.  Just when you get bored, there is something crazy that happens to spice life back up and make you hunt to find out what everyone is talking about.  Who really wants to be left out in the world?  Do you want to be left out in the world?  Nope, sure you don’t, it would be similar not living, and we are very much pro-life over here on my blog.

I am pretty much on top or in tune with pop culture, even though I actually don’t let it rule my life or follow it like it is GOD or something, but it is interesting to discover new and cool things from pop culture.  If you are actually reading this or peep the title of this post and wondering what the hell did I write and what does it mean…well the background of the title is that PSY is a Korean music artist and he has a viral video going around the Internet.  It was released or debut in early July and in a month of release it has over 47,000,000 (as of today of my writing this) views on the video (here is a link to ithttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bZkp7q19f0&feature=related) and there are parody and spin offs of the epic video by people who are trying to gain some juice of it before it becomes a thing of the past.

Pop culture/viral events are very similar to fashion and beauty, one day it is hip and the next day or a bit later, you better not be caught wearing or following that trend.  Some people call it selling out to follow trends or being stupid and being drawn in by society, but think of it like this, do you want to be the same person forever?  Do you want to grow. adapt, and be better to help others?  How about create jobs or open doors for friends, family and more?  Well being popular and the IT PERSON in the world can do so.

So as I follow this trend and many others to just to get a bite of it and what people are actually searching for, why not help them find me, and then be happy they have found me and discover I have more about me and my content to stick around.

Do you follow trends and pop culture?  Do you know that fashion, tv shows, music and movies are actually part of pop culture and trends?  Name one of your favorite celebrity, and I bet you there was a time in life that person was the IT PERSON or had a chance at their 15 minutes to fame.

Let me know your thoughts, opinions and comments…:)

Been Gone From Home

I have been gone from home, but I still remember where I live.  I been away from my blog a while, in which is my home.  The atmosphere here is much more beautiful than others places I normally go to in my daily life.  Recently I have been working behind the scenes on my upcoming productions, and it’s quite overwhelming.  I been on set of a short film of a friend as her assistant director.  It’s quite a new experience working with a cast and other professionals such as camera man, assistants, actors, and actresses for I am usually a solo team being everyone and playing every role.

I shall share more on theses stories and my experience in the coming days and weeks.

I had to take the time to work with others and develop my experiences as I continue onto my future career.  But I am definitely back to where I belong, my blog and the awesome creative community of readers and writers.

I am back, though I never really left.  Here comes the fun again.

Photoshoot & Music Video on the Beach, Then RAIN

So I was out in the world, doing the things I love to do, shooting lovely photos and at the same time I was making some cameo appearances in a Music Video for my artist Kennie Dubb (alternative hip hop artist), then here it comes, RAIN.  I have never really been caught in the rain and got soaked before, ever seen I a little boy in Jamaica and just had that I don’t care, I want to play in the rain attitude.  My mother of course didn’t like that theory and great deal of spanking went with that.  But I was always prepared for the situation of rain, or stay in a location of shelter until the rain stopped.

Rewind then fast forward, back in the days in Jamaica, the simple life, rain wasn’t much of a deal, because I was a kid and shoot it’s just water.  But in today’s world, my $2,000 camera equipment and smart phone is not something so easy to look over by the rain and the damages it cause and what the insurance on each won’t cover.  So when the said rain came pouring, I was out like flash to protect my valuables and then find a place to stay dry.  Well it was a big beach, and luckily my artist had a ride and I was saved, after the fact I was soaked, cold, and tired.  But all in all, I had a semi water proof book bag with a mini umbrella in which I could not get to in time, via it was the same compartment my greatly priced video camera was, and I was in no way going to make that risk to open my bag.

Gladly my camera was protected, and I have this cool memory and story to share.  I should be in the super cool music video, and had a blast playing soccer on the beach and everyone came out to have fun.  Oh also the photos from my photoshoot came out well.  I am happy.

PS: Damn, New York City weather, just all over the place randomly.

How was your weekend?
