TONE

tone-of-voice

Tone is a literary element of composition, which encompasses the attitudes toward the subject and toward the audience implied in a literary work.  Tone may be formal, informal, intimate, solemn, somber, playful, serious, ironic, condescending, or many other possible attitudes.  Each piece of literature has at least one theme, or central question about a topic, and how the theme is approached within the work is known as the tone.  [Excerpt via Wikipedia]

As writers and creators, we use tone in our works.  It’s important to have a balance you how you should sound and how you want to be heard.  How do you use your tone?

Black and White Memories

BLACK & WHITE MEMORIES

Black and White Sexy Love

The moments in life we imagine,

Walking,

Long roads, no shoes on,

Thoughts running wild,

An emptiness inside,

We are in a maze,

No in amaze,

Of where we are going,

And where we have left,

For everything,

Is in black and white,

It’s so clear,

Leaving the darkness,

Entering the light,

It’s time.

MUTE ME NOT

MUTE ME NOT

poet leaf

I have something to say,
So I sing it out loud,
It has rhythm and melodies,
So MUTE ME NOT,
I can change lives with my words,
I can mend wounds with my convictions,
I am not a prophet,
But I do ask to MUTE ME NOT,
For I have reasons, values and even rights,
My voice has power within its cord,
Don’t cut me short,
MUTE ME NOT.

For those days you have something say and want to let it out, tell your demons, friends, family and even society, to let you speak.

Q: What do you think?  Is there something you always wanted to say or something in the past you wanted to say but couldn’t?
