Master Ninja Challenge – Diet and Fitness

Healthy-Lifestyle-Habits

It’s that time again, a challenge.  I have for years created a healthy challenge every year since I had my blog to test my fitness and my diet.  I actually love challenges.  So I was talking to my best friend today and he said in very few words I inspire him.  Well at least fitness wise.  He said I should be way far from where I am, even though he is trying to catch up, but I am not.  He says my eating is bad as he is eating clean.  He also said I got no cooking skills.  That’s my best friend for you right there…  He likes friendly competitions, well at least in the realm of things he likes to do or is passionate about.  It’s always one-sided for me and everyone I know.  No one ever wants to compete with me in the things I am passionate about, it’s always me to join their race.

I have lost the competitive edge in a few things, even though everyone knows I can be a mad scientist at times, and I will go the extreme if need be.  But still my friend and his statements are correct.  So in order to challenge myself I touch basis with the inner MASTER NINJA and create vivid to almost dangerous challenges for myself to overcome and be the best.

Here are a few challenges I had beaten:

A Post A Day for 1 Month

A Video A Day for 1 Month

Become Freshly Pressed on WordPress (Yup it was actually a goal)

I attempted A POST A DAY for an entire year, twice
(I am not sure it anyone knows I have over 900 posts)

and a few others I will post on my NINJA page.

Now that I think of it, I need to post my accomplishments on its own page called NINJA, because I don’t think people know how versatile and hardworking I am.  So when you challenge me, please be ready for a real battle.

Anyways…

Here are the NEW RULES and CHALLENGE starting immediately, TODAY, 4/23/13

Little to No processed food,
Veggies everyday
Photo A Day (coming soon)
Cook every weekend something NEW
No Rice, No Bread, No Beer (This is part two…I did this for a month last year, but let’s take it a bit further.

I shall be adding more as the days go by to see where I am lacking in and create a measurable challenge, something not too easy.  This is just the warm up.

Oh yea did I tell everyone that I am working on trying to be a certified Personal Trainer…Pile on the workload, let’s go.

Also I am working on producing a Web Cooking Show…I will keep you all posted on that.

All in all I promote a healthy lifestyle and will post tips and more for everyone to see, also there will be pictures too, OH MY GOSH, and they will be yummy.

My 2012 CARDIO vs CARBS Challenge: NO RICE, NO BREAD

Hi everyone, it’s Richardo here.  If you are currently reading this and you are new to my blog, then you are soon to find out I live life to the fullest and I also challenge myself constantly to be the best I can be.  Shout out to all my new subscribers and followers, and if you are not one, you should join the fun. 🙂 Nice plug right?  I am sorry.

Either way, I want some awesome sexy abs and I have beenworking hard at it.  But eating too much rice and bread can hinder that goal.  Carbs can be evil.  So evil I am excluded it out of my diet.  I don’t want to but I have to.  This is the most extreme challenge I have ever set myself for too this date.  If you are from the carribbean such as myself (Jamaica) we eat big plates of food and rice and also hard dough bread from golden krust among other places.  Rice is a crucial part of our meals.

So now you know NO RICE and NO BREAD is a big deal to me at least.  Not only am I going for no rice and bread for 30 days, I am getting back into running and riding bikes too so I am adding a cardio fat burning factor to my challenge.  I ride the bike at the gym, I go on the treadmill and I go running outside, to add to my cardio performance for my workout and weight loss, so I challenge myself  to do 10 miles 4 days a week for 30 days.  So that means 16 days of 10 miles runs or riding, on a moderate level.

Recently I have lost 11 lbs at the gym, and seeing success in my workouts.  I have added so much intensity and various workouts that my body is confused and burning fat smoothly.

I hope I can beat this challenge.  After the next 30 days I will let you know the results and the amount of weight or muscles I have gained from this challenge.

so…

No Rice or Bread for 30 days
and

10 miles (4 days a week)

*side note:  The reason why I don’t go everyday for 10 miles, is because I need to rest my body and also I play soccer, basketball and tennis on the other days.  I would be completely burned out.

A good diet and exercise equals weight loss and a healthy lifestyle.

Are you looking to loss some weight?  Are you working out and eating effectively and to be healthy?  Do you think I will win this challenge against myself?

No Burgers, No Beer for 30 Days, But Red Wine is Fine

I have noticed my body has been changing in certain aspects and I think it’s the food I have been eating.  I usually have a reward system in place each year in which I move to different food groups that are just tasty to me.  Though I try to stick to a certain diet, at the end of the week of a hard-working week, via I work very hard, I would reward myself with a treat.

Previous years it was a 6 pack of mojitos, jerk chicken, a golden crust chicken patty, cake, ice cream, a bottle of Barefoot Riesling wine (in which I still drink now and then) and couple other items.  This year or well over the last couple months, it was pizza, random burgers and a can of Coors beer.  All of those delicious, but not too healthy in the ways I want to transform my body.

I don’t normally consume a lot of each item, but it’s usually once a week say Saturday or Sunday, my chilled days I would go an enjoy those while kicking back watching netflix, dvds, HBO on demand, playing some video games.  So like every year I try to challenge myself against things I like to see if I can do without them and exclude them from my normal routine.

So I really want a lean, mean body this year like I had couple years ago, and my eating habits have been hindering those advancements, for I go to the gym and do solid workouts 5 days a week (i will show you videos and photos soon enough of my work outs to see my variations).  So I really want to kick some unhealthy calorie butt this month and other months to come, so bye-bye burgers and beer, I might revisit you guys later, but for now, let’s see if you guys are stopping my weight loss and nice 6 pack abs I been working on.
