A Sense of Humor is Key To Life

Mr Bean awesome funny

One of the greatest thing in life is a sense of humor.  We all need more smiling, laughing and having a great time.  Whether laughing at something silly or laughing about a topic while having a great conversation, having a sense of humor is an invaluable asset in life.  I try my best everyday to enjoy life and to add to other’s appreciation of life with humor, even strangers.  If I do something silly or odd, it’s really more of being myself as much as to give others a different point of view or experience they can learn and enjoy.  I always tell others that hanging out with me or meeting me in real life is quite an experience, for every time you meet me, you will see a different side and no days is really the same.

I know for me, one of the most precious things in life is comedy.  If a girl can make me laugh and be very witty and keep me laughing then she has reeled me in forever.  Then again she has to have other things too, like being inspiring, for that will keep me coming back for more in the long run.  I think that goes for almost anybody.  Being creative, being inspirational, and having a good sense of humor will make you my best friend forever.

Anyways, back to the laughs.  Some of my favorite people to watch are Dane Cook, Dave Chappelle, Eddie Murphy, Rowan Atkinson (yup ypu Mr. Bean), Jim Carey, Chris Rock and even Jackie Chan.  I was raised up on humor and comedy watching hours and hours of Looney Tunes, Bugs Bunny is my favorite as well as Daffy Duck and Sylvester, they are too crazy.  On a side note I plan on buying a Bugs Bunny teddy bear, that would be a one of the greatest gift in the world to me.  I like the simple things.

Do you have a sense of humor?  When was the last time you have a good laugh?  What entertains you the most?

Mr Bean

Go out, watch a funny movie, call up a friend, do something silly for laughs and enjoy the results of smiling and the wonderful feeling it brings.  Cherish it.

My Magazine Subscriptions

The manga section at Barnes & Noble in Colma, ...

It was just last year I got back into paying for magazine subscription as I did before years ago when I use to have magazine subscription with Vibe Magazine, The Source Magazine and XXL Magazine.  I was really into Hip Hop and loved the articles and discovering new artists and the rating and photos of artists if they made the spread or so.

So since September last year I subscribed to two of my favorite magazine, (well only because because I got some sweet deal on them thanks to Amazon.com) which are Cosmopolitan Magazine and Complex Magazine.  If there are any magazines I would read and just love the articles and the funny thinks they publish are those magazines.  Those magazines actually spark some creativity energy my way in which helps me on creating content for my blog and my youtube channel.  So it’s exciting to see when they come in the mail.

As of Sunday March 6, 2011, I added couple new subscription to my arsenal to be delivered to my home, (thanks again to Amazon.com special offers) are Popular Photography Magazine and American Photo Magazine.  I usually go to Barnes and Noble and flip through magazine, but I could never get it too the point I can bring it home and test out my skills with my DSLR on creating great photos as in these magazines.  But since they are coming to my house now, I will get the prime opportunity to flip through each page.

So you wanted to know the deals I got for each magazine?

Cosmopolitan = $10 for 1 year subscription (12 issues) – Pretty good deal.
Complex = $10 for 2 years subscription (12 issues/bi-monthly) – Nice enough deal, did I mention I love Marc Ecko Clothing?
Popular Photography = $5 for 1 year subscription (12 issues) – As a photographer this is an awesome deal.
American Photo = $5 for 1 year subscription (6 issues/bi-monthly) –  Nice enough deal.

Do you have any magazine subscriptions?  Do you catch the deals out there or pay regular prices?

Its Hard To Say No

A November 2006 edition of Cosmopolitan, givin...

We constantly try to hold onto to things of value, whether or not it is for the right or wrong reasons.  It could be a loved one that passed, a drug addiction, a simple habit, a valuable item or just the need to do something that keeps on not getting done.  So no only is it hard to say no, it’s also hard to say goodbye or hard to just let go.  In my case its items and things I didn’t get a chance to do.  Even though I went through the all the types previously listed such as letting go of a passed loved one, or an ex girlfriend, kicking certain habits, I find myself trapped in letting go items of value and things I never go to finish doing.  I mean some of it I can just let go and move on and it won’t be a trouble or make that much of a difference, but it’s that need to say yes I can and will complete it that always tend to bother me.

So in a reversed angle, its like I can’t admit to myself and say no you can’t do it and just let it go and move on.  I keep telling myself yes I can do it, and leave a space in my mind stocking up memory of doing certain things, and never attending to it.  It’s a waste of space and thought.

The reason I wrote this post is mainly about my inability to read my magazine subscription on time before the next issue comes in the mail.  It feel I am wasting my money even though I caught them on a deal ($10 for 2 yrs subscription of Complex Magazine and $10 for 1 yr subscription of Cosmopolitan Magazine), I really wanted to use them as my creative inspiration for my writing.  They happen to write and publish things that feed my mind to think outside the box and top whatever they have published.  But I tend to get caught up doing other things, which are mostly important, but I keep stocking up on the magazine and never getting to read them and holding up space. It’s crazy to me.

Another habit I tend to can’t kick is the holding onto items of value that I invested in that are outdated I guess, but the product which are usually equipment for my productions, that still works wonderfully but are in desperate need for an upgrade.  I tend to keep them around even after obtaining the updated and newer version.

I need to step up and say NO and let them go.

Are you going through anything of what was mentioned?  Drop me a comment and let me know what you think.
