I am going to keep running, and switch shoes until my feet fall and cry, that they can’t take no more.  Another day still at it, WordPress /Automattic Worldwide WP 5k (#WWWP5k) new sneaker on deck.  I fall these snakes here, comfy and noisy.

I can really say, these new hobby or challenge of mine of running is turning into a lot of fun.  I am super tired at nights and it’s bed time.  I sleep better when tired, and these 5k runs, surely do the trick.

Okay, So I Almost Died On The Treadmill

So day two happened, and I almost died.  I was in shock, I couldn’t breathe, I couldn’t believe, until a song came across my headphones, with the lyrics, “These people won’t hold me back”, and somehow I lived.  You can call that song my I heard, my motivation to keep going.

Continuing my 5k run every day this week contributing to WordPress /Automattic Worldwide WP 5k (#WWWP5k) I wore a new sneaker today (see in picture above). I was really in the zone.  I was aching, I am was battered, I was hurting, but I had to champion my quest to win.

I wore my favorite running shoes today, my Nike neon green, blue and black sneaker.  After finding out I was so out of shape, I had to pull off a hail mary for beating my previous time of 37 mins to complete my 5k run.  With the grace of GOD, I was able to pull it off with the time of 32 mins.  I started off on a low pace of 6.0 for the first 20 mins, slowed down to a 4.0 for 2 mins, then went hard at a 6.2 pace to attempt to reach my goal.  I was successful.  There were moments, I didn’t think I could go anymore, until my favorite raps songs came into the headphones, I am was rapping every lyrics, while trying to catch my breath and pace myself, to be in a good flow to not give up.  Surely I didn’t have to try as hard as I did today, since it’s only day 2, but I am hard-headed.  Dangle a goal in front of me, and say it’s not impossible and watch me prove you wrong.  That’s one of my mentalities in life, try until you fail, the reconfigure to success.  It’s all about the strategy and execution.

At the end of the day of me working hard, there will be a big pay off in the end.  I will be back to my normal cardio maniac ways, and be in a familiar territory once again.

It’s Embarrassing How Out Of Shape I Am

Wow, that was really embarrassing today, I pulled off the slowest 5k run I have ever did in my life…  As I tried to do a 5k run in the gym on the treadmill to contribute to WordPress /Automattic Worldwide WP 5k (#WWWP5k), I pulled off the worse timing ever.  I finished poorly with a 37 min estimated completion time.  I was like dang, I am out of shape.  I usually knock out a 5k run under 30 minutes (on average 24-27 minutes).  There wasn’t anyone there at the gym to be embarrassed by, I was just embarrassment in myself.  How did I let my fitness get this far off.

It’s been almost 3-4 weeks since I been in the gym.  Work had been eating up my time, until I had to make some really serious life decisions about my career, health and future.  I just came upon a new job and had to start letting go of all the distractions and tell many friends and family member a lot of Noooo’s.  I just can’t help them right now.  I have lost a bit of focus on myself.  Me trying to do this 5k run which is never such a struggle to me was proof I was seriously off my game.

Either way, today is day one of the Annual Event in which anyone in the whole can do.  Just complete a 5k run (aka 3.1 Miles) between October 26 – November 1, and you are a winner in life.  My goal this year to whip myself back into shape is to do a 5k run everyday for the week time frame from Oct. 26 – Nov. 1.  It’s going to be brutal.  I plan on taking a different sneaker out the closet for my run each day to represent me making my stride to a 5k run a day to get myself and life back in shape.
